I’m a software product manager, former NYC theatre and global events stage manager, and, evermore, an asker of why?

With eclectic interests in design, behavioral economics, organizational psychology, and storytelling, I’m a champion of curious people with non-traditional paths and non-linear directions. I’m passionate about how the traditional world of business and the growing world of tech can benefit from being more inclusive of these people. I aspire to live outside the US and to eat all the donuts.

Technology Cred

2017 – Current

Thousands of software teams develop solutions for my current company, and I lead the roadmap of a platform for those teams to track and report on their projects. I closely partner with portfolio and program managers, Jira experts, Agile coaches, lead architects, and data scientists. I have experience working with up to 3 software development teams at once, using Scrum and Kanban practices, and presenting to forums of over 200 technologists.

In a previous role, I was the lead product and engagement consultant for nonprofits and corporate cause marketing and employee engagement clients. I led a team driving solution ideation and execution, including design, testing, and launch of campaigns using SMS, desktop and mobile apps, and interactive video and gaming technology.

Business Cred

2014 – 2018

I was one of two team leads at a boutique strategic consultancy, driving a portfolio of projects across 10 strategists and senior strategists, three of whom I directly managed. I maintained an expertise on the consumer, sociopolitical, and social habits of Gen Z, advising clients from companies such as Spotify, Google, Foot Locker, PwC, and College Board. During my tenure, I helped drive client satisfaction to a five-year high and was responsible for near triple revenue growth of a major account related to employee engagement.

Prior to joining the consultancy, I was in the full-time MBA program at Columbia Business School, where I took on leadership roles in student advising and social enterprise. As an MBA student, I supported clients on a number of business development and strategy consulting projects, across a range of industries including podcast advertising, international healthcare (with field research conducted in Dubai and Abu Dhabi), and live entertainment for The Walt Disney Company.

I proudly recall that one of my business school scholarship award letters characterized me as a contrarian.

Arts, Events, and Creative Industry Cred

2007–2013

I began my professional stage management career as an apprentice at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and moved out to NYC with two suitcases and a dream after the 06/07 season closed. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work at notable NYC-based institutions, such as The Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, and New York Theatre Workshop, and I’ve traveled the world staging multi-venue events in Canada, Italy, and Australia. I’ve stage managed one-person shows, two-person shows, and why-are-there-so-many-humans-in-this-musical shows, but favorites include PASSING STRANGE, MURDER BALLAD, and A BOY AND HIS SOUL. I’ve run lines with Lynn Redgrave, coaxed war stories and old Hollywood gossip out of Charles Durning, got cursed at by Michael Bloomberg, and given fashion advice to Isaac Mizrahi, not to mention I’ve gotten to watch former colleagues become legitimate stars. I might strain my muscles a bit picking up all those names I’ve dropped, but much of my strength and flexibility as an employee comes from the legitimate hard work of a career in stage management.
